Mathle

As the name suggests, Mathle is a math-based word game where you can use your mathematical prowess to identify the equation and how it appears. The developer of the game is the same independent hacker that made Reversle, another Wordle equivalent. Wordle's core features are maintained by Mathle, but you must reveal an equation comprised of numbers and the two fundamental arithmetic operations "+" and "-" rather than letters.

A '=' sign divides the eight empty boxes you receive into five on the left and three on the right. This design has been used to guarantee that the left side of the equation contains a calculation and the right side has the answer.

You have a total of 5 attempts, as opposed to Wordle's 6, to figure out what the equation looks like. Depending on your guesses, colored boxes will appear: green when a digit or character is correctly placed, yellow when one is present but not correctly placed, and gray when the character is not present anywhere in the equation.

In many ways, Mathle is similar to a simpler version of Nerdle (another math alternative to Wordle), except that you can precisely locate the left and right sides of an equation rather than assuming where the two halves of the equation split. Have no idea how many digits the result has and where an arithmetic sign sits since with Nerdle you have to find out where the "=" sign is. A wonderful time!

How to play Mathle

Visit wordlewebsite.com using a web browser on your phone or desktop to play Mathle. You should stop looking for Mathle on the Play Store or the App Store straight away if you thought it was already installed on your smartphone as an app. When you first launch Mathle, the puzzle board is set up in an 85 grid, where 8 is the number of characters you must guess correctly in 5 tries.

You can enter any number between 0 and 9 as well as the mathematical operation "+" or "-" on the number pad that is located underneath the puzzle board.

You can either type the characters from your keyboard or click on any of the characters on the number pad to enter your estimate. Your guests won't be taken as a guess if it doesn't follow mathematical reasoning.

Once you've entered the entire equation for your guess, press Enter on your keyboard or click Enter on the number pad.

On Mathle, the board will color the row as you enter a guess to indicate how accurate it was. The arithmetic sign and numbers will be green if they are placed correctly. If they are positioned improperly, their boxes will be yellow, and if the incorrect arithmetic function or numbers are used, their boxes will be grey.

Use the majority of the numbers 0–9 for the eight empty spots as your initial guess. You can still choose from a total of 10 numbers, or 7 of them, even though there is only one slot for the arithmetic function. You'll have a general notion of which numbers are there on the board and where when you do that.

You can construct a logical equation in your second attempt using the unspent numbers from the number pad. You can increase your prediction if you believe the same digit appears in the solution more than once. When you guess by entering the same numeral twice and you see:

- If there are two green boxes, the letters have been positioned appropriately.

- One is correctly positioned (green), whereas the other one is not (yellow) (yellow).

- Two yellows: The digits are positioned incorrectly in both cases.

- One is correctly positioned (green), while the other is absent from the equation. There is one green and one grey. The green box, which is the sole area for the digit, is there.

- One yellow and one grey: One is missing from the equation, and the other is present but is positioned improperly in the solution.
